When the farming community faced new and unpredictable supply chain challenges due to the pandemic, Chipotle simplified the chain for both fans and farmers with a virtual farmer's market. This direct to consumer opportunity gave fans direct access to local farms hosted by Chipotle.

As part of the commitment, Chipotle is covering the cost of the Shopify stores for two years, giving the farmers a jump start on embracing technology for a direct-to-consumer business.

Hunt, Gather partnered with Chipotle to create their Virtual Farmers Market on Shopify, giving fans access to fresh, high-quality, real food straight from the source, and farmers gained access to a platform and audience that could make a real difference to their business.

The microsite received a lot of attention from both press and public, with nearly 100 articles and mentions, resulting in 499M media impressions.

We custom designed Chipotle’s Virtual Farmers Market in Shopify with full e-commerce functionality and tools. Doing so gave our farmers a state-of-the-art platform to sell artisanal goods direct to consumers during a challenging time.

In addition to featuring four farmers, the microsite also showcases the latest Seed Grant Recipients–a group of young farmers under 40 that each received a $5,000 grant from Chipotle to further invest in the future of farming.
